According to Mr. Luka Binniyat, a former spokesperson of the Southern Kaduna Peoples Forum, the 80 kidnapped Tudun Wali victims’ reported escape from captors is false and spreading on social media.
Binniyat refuted the accusation in a verified Facebook post, calling it “lies from the pit of hell,” and asserting that none of the 166 abducted individuals had come back.
Eighty Adara people, who were abducted fifteen days ago from Kurmin Walli village in Kajuru LGA of Kaduna State by Fulani terrorist bandits, have reportedly escaped and returned to their hometown, according to his writing.
That is an egregiously false, deceptive, and dishonourable piece of news. To tell the truth, some of the Kurmin Walli people who were not abducted are actually making a triumphant comeback. They escaped and left the hamlet both during and after the mass abduction.
They are coming back because they feel safer around Kurmin Walli, whether that’s true or not. Because they are helpless and have nowhere else to go, they have been the victims of 22 separate kidnappings in the last several years. As of the writing of this essay, not a single one of the 166 captives has managed to flee. Absolutely not one.
Similar to how the Kaduna State Government formally denied the abduction at first, only for the IGP to subsequently confirm the crime, it seems that certain village leaders are being pressured to lie.
Even if fresh kidnappings are raging in Kajuru LGA and the surrounding areas, the authorities have remained silent despite the fact that today marks 15 days of their captivity. Nigeria needs to know the truth.
Nobody in the media should be mislead to believe that the public is putting less pressure on the government to save these innocent people who are probably going through the worst time of their lives right now.
We demand official confirmation from the authorities that the 80 Kurmin Walli churchgoers who were kidnapped have either escaped or been saved. This is not the story of a small-town, unofficial, fearful villager who is anxious and worried sick because he has family members still held captive. Truthfulness is essential for safety.
