Passengers are advised not to fly after airspace limitations in the Middle East hampered airline operations. This was announced by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
According to a statement given to journalists in Lagos on Saturday by FAAN, numerous flights departing from Nigerian airports intended for Middle Eastern destinations, including those run by Emirates and Qatar Airways, have been either cancelled or delayed as a consequence of these events.
For up-to-date information on flight schedules, rebooking arrangements, and any other relevant assistance, the authorities recommended impacted passengers to contact their airlines directly.
The FAAN has stated that it is working closely with the appropriate aviation authorities and airline companies to monitor the situation and will provide more details as they happen.
Travellers were thanked by the authority for their cooperation and tolerance as they apologised for the difficulty caused.
The General Civil Aviation Authority had already announced the temporary partial shutdown of the United Arab Emirates’ airspace, which was followed by the advisory.
According to regional media, the decision was made to ensure the safety of aircraft operations, passengers, and crew throughout the UAE. It was made in response to current security challenges.
