Twelve institutions have been chosen by the federal government to receive N48b for engineering upgrades.
On Monday, during the Abuja inauguration of the Implementation Committee on Tertiary Education Trust Fund Special High-Impact Intervention Projects, Minister of Education Dr. Tunji Alausa revealed this information.
According to Alausa, the monies would be used to either improve current facilities or build new engineering workshops as needed. He also mentioned that another university has been allocated N20 billion to update their engineering facilities in the 2026 TETFund guidelines.
Institutions that will receive N4 billion each, as per his claims, are:
A federal university in Niger State located in Minna
Institution of Federal Technology in Akure, Ondo State
Babura, Jigawa State: Federal University of Technology
Ikot-Abasi, Akwa-Ibom State was the location of Federal University of Technology.
Imo State’s Federal University of Technology at Owerri*
Abuja, Nigeria’s African Aviation & Aerospace University; Biu, Borno State, Nigeria’s Nigerian Army University
University of Sokoto State’s Shehu Shagari School of Education and the University of Enugu’s School of Medicine and Applied Sciences
School of Ilesha in Osun State
The Delta State University
The university of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa
