Pep Guardiola, manager of Manchester City, will miss two matches after receiving a yellow card in Saturday’s FA Cup encounter against Newcastle United. Guardiola has already been cautioned six times this season.
Following Kieran Trippier’s foul against City’s Jeremy Doku, the Spaniard got into a confrontation with Lewis Smith, the fourth official.
At St. James Park, Omar Marmoush scored to make it 3-1, and Guardiola seemed to cheer in a sarcastically manner as well.
Because of this, he will not be available to coach City in either their Premier League match next Saturday against West Ham or their FA Cup quarterfinal in April.
The regulations do not apply to cup and Champions League finals, thus Guardiola can be in charge of the team in the March 22nd Carabao Cup final versus Real Madrid and Arsenal.
