At Benin City’s Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) match between Nasarawa United and Bendel Insurance ended in a dramatic 2-2 tie on matchday 31.
The away team came back twice to win a share of the victory.
In the fourteenth minute, Alex Oweilayefa put Insurance ahead, but four minutes before halftime, Monday Gideon equalised for Plateau United.
In the 59th minute, the home team took the lead again thanks to a penalty kick by Kayode Oke.
In the nick of time, though, Plateau United equalised with a penalty of their own.
The draw kept Bendel Insurance in seventh place and gave Plateau United the eighth slot in the standings.
In a closely fought match, Kwara United prevailed against Nasarawa 1-0 at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos.
The game-winning penalty kick was converted in the dying seconds by Abdulsalam Abdulsalam.
Even with the victory, Kwara United are still in last place in the league.
It was a setback for Nasarawa United’s aspirations.
