“Michael Collins Ajereh, better known by his stage name Don Jazzy, is a record producer and music executive from Nigeria. He recently opened up about his inspiration for the job.
A recent episode of Jazzy’s podcast, “On The Grind,” featured him discussing how his passion for music inspired him to pursue performance.

I jumped headfirst into production and haven’t turned back since. My time on percussion was up, so I switched to jazz drums. I shifted the bass guitar away from the drum kit. He finally got around to picking up the piano, he revealed.
While in London, I decided I wanted to make music as a producer and began to study several instruments. Don Jazzy got his start in the industry in the UK, where he collaborated with groups like the 419 Squad and JJC.
He became the in-house producer for Mo’ Hits Records, which he co-founded with D’banj in 2004. After Mo’ Hits broke up in 2012, he started Mavin Records and is now the chief executive officer and head producer of the company.
Between 2011 and 2013, Don Jazzy worked as an in-house producer for GOOD Music, the album by American rapper Kanye West.
