A nationwide student anti-drug campaign has been launched by power bike riders in Nigeria, operating under the auspices of Jeje Riders Nigeria.

The campaign was launched in Yola on Saturday by the bikers in partnership with the Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). The campaign emphasized the need for a communal effort to avoid drug consumption, as it is on the rise.

At the Capital Secondary School in Yola, amid a gathering of students from schools surrounding the capital city, the association’s members were joined by representatives of biker groups from Cameroon, Ghana, Benin Republic, and Cote d’ivoir. Students from these schools were there to hear the anti-drug abuse messages that were presented during the ceremony.

Ibrahim Tizhe, president and chairman of the board of trustees of the Jeje Riders Nigeria, addressed the gathering and stated that the organization has a deep affinity for young people and has decided to broaden its humanitarian efforts to support their growth by advocating against drug abuse.

This nationwide campaign will go over the country to shift the minds of youths away from drug misuse,” Tizhe stated, “and we flag it off here in Yola today.”

The joint nationwide students anti-drug abuse campaign with the Jeje Riders proves that the NDLEA needs collaboration with well-meaning individuals and groups to successfully tackle drug abuse, according to Buba Marwa, Executive Chairman of the NDLEA, who spoke through Agboalu Samson, commander of the NDLEA in Adamawa State.

Substance misuse does not lead to success. Leave it alone. “It causes irreparable harm,” Marwa informed the class.

A number of cycling readers gave statements along these lines, highlighting how drug use leads kids away from their academic pursuits and into a life devoid of meaning.

On behalf of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, Dr. Umar Pella, the state commissioner of education, expressed the state’s pride in hosting the anti-drug abuse campaign’s flag-off ceremony.
