At the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, City took a 2-0 lead on goals from Antoine Semenyo and Ryan Cherki.
Dominic Solanke scored twice in the second half as the home team battled back to earn a draw.
This past weekend, Arsenal increased their advantage atop the league to six points.
