Another bird strike has damaged one of United Nigeria Airlines’ (UNA) Airbus A320 planes, the second in as many hours and the fourth since January. The airline has verified that this is causing flight interruptions.
On Sunday around noon, while taking off from Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport to Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Flight UN0519 had an issue.
Mr. Chibuike Uloka, the airline’s public relations officer, made the announcement in a statement released in Lagos on Sunday.
He stated that the impacted planes have been removed from service to undergo thorough technical checks in accordance with the stringent safety protocols of the airline. He went on to say that the current event doubles the number of Airbus planes grounded in the past 24 hours.
Consequently, there will be disruptions to several flights across our network, and they may not operate as originally scheduled. When it comes to passenger safety, United Nigeria Airlines will not waver.
