Wizkid, whose real name is Ayodeji Balogun, is an Afrobeats musician from Nigeria. He recently made the accusation that the country’s wealthy elite have used poverty as a weapon to get the poor to “worship” them.
On Wednesday, he made the accusation while publicly criticizing Davido, an associate of his, on social media.
After starting to slam Davido on Tuesday night, the ‘More Love, Less Ego’ singer continued to mock the DMW chief on Wednesday.
Davido is famous for his single “Omo Baba Olowo,” but he insisted he was more successful and had more money.
According to Wizkid, who criticized Davido for being a “spoilt rich kid,” the ‘Unavailable’ singer is also “cheap” and charges less than their peers in the music business.
First of all, you’re not as cool as me, you can’t sing or compose music like me, you can’t dress like me, you don’t make more money than me, and you even don’t have shoes like me,” he stated on his X handle.
Nobody knows you like you do. You’re too cheap; our prices are lower than yours. Stop being such a spoiled brat, Rich! Really? That’s it! Forget about you and your dad’s money; we’ve got it! Everyone around you snapped! Our attorneys are too busy to worry about your incompetent lawyer following you about in a basketmouth outfit, lol. “Young people!”
In a separate tweet, Wizkid rebutted Davido’s claim that he is the “001” of Nigerian music by claiming that the wealthy have weaponized poverty in Nigeria and that Davido has surrounded himself with impoverished people so that they would love him.
You bring all these poor lads into the real world and give them visas so they will adore you instead of telling you about yourself; that’s how the rich weaponize poverty in Nigeria.
Hey there, you naive dweeb! Just dial 001! When you’re at home, there’s no one around except you. If all you have is Instagram followers, you are not number one!
As a musician, you don’t earn more than anybody else in Nigeria! Stupid individual! When I look at you, I see nothing but cheapness,” he wrote.
