Israel Joe, a human rights activist from the Niger Delta, joined the current demonstration in Abuja on Monday and called on the National Assembly to allow the real-time transmission of electronic results in anticipation of the 2027 general elections.
In a video captured in Warri, Delta State, Joe made the call while participating in a solo protest. The transmission of electronic results, in his opinion, would save the country a great deal. “The umpire should verify and add up the data transmitted from the card reader to the IReV,” he said.
A member of the National Assembly is allegedly plotting to manipulate and rig the 2027 elections, according to Joe, “if they don’t authorise the transfer or transmission of e-results in real time.”
The people of the Niger Delta are uniting in this appeal for the National Assembly to pass legislation that will ensure free, fair, transparent, and credible elections in Nigeria, he said.

The Senate’s claim that an electronic transmission of election results would be impossible is, according to Joe, detrimental to emerging nations.
His main point was that in order to advance, they needed to incorporate the principles that could make their system strong and efficient.
“Therefore, we are firmly requesting that the National Assembly take the necessary steps to ensure that the 2027 elections are conducted in a manner that is credible, fair, and free, and that the entire world looks on in awe.”
