In his prediction for this year’s UEFA Champions League, Danny Murphy—a former player for Liverpool—has chosen his favourite team.
Murphy thinks that, given their defensive prowess and where they sit in the draw, Arsenal are heavy favourites to win the European top division title. Despite their poor performance, “Arsenal are so good defensively,” Murphy remarked on talkSPORT.
“You would expect them to reach the final, and given their draw, they are probably favourites to win the Champions League.”
In Tuesday’s round-of-16 match against Bayer Leverkusen, Arsenal won the second leg 2-0. They will now face Sporting CP in the quarterfinals of the Champions League.
As of this writing, Mikel Arteta’s squad is the sole Champions League squad without a loss.
