In light of the current situation in Rivers State, veteran writer Dele Momodu expressed his sympathies to Governor Sim Fubara on Tuesday.
The confrontation between Fubara and Wike is strange, according to Momodu.
This statement was made by the PDP chairman in response to a video showing Wike scolding his former employer, the late Rotimi Amaechi, who was the governor of the state of Nigeria.
The consequences of dictatorship should be obvious to individuals in power, Momodu said on X.
“The consequences of tyranny are typically catastrophic and they may even threaten our hard earned democracy,” he wrote, explaining why we warn our friends against abusing power. However, many people fail to grasp or respect this warning.
Winning isn’t everything in life. Governor Nyesom Wike was scolding his predecessor, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, right then and there.
This is why his conflict with Governor Sim Fubara is so strange to us. Never in my life have I been close to FUBARA. At no point. We should feel bad for him, though.
Since Fubara became governor, he and Wike have been at odds with one another.
They were still at odds with each other when President Bola Tinubu stepped in.
Still, Fubara clarified that the source of his disagreement with Wike was his desire to exert influence in politics.
“We all know the issue,” Fubara had stated. Doing it is a breeze. The question of authority and command is essential.
Everyone has witnessed it in this instance. Would someone have to go to such far as to block the newly inaugurated council chairmen from entering the Secretariat if the elections had taken place in Rivers in a more conventional manner?
