In his Friday sermon, Professor Luqman Zakariyah praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a “father to all” and hoped that the new government would give hope to the less fortunate. Zakariyah was the officiant at the Fatiha wedding of Mohammed Bello Matawalle’s children.
As a representative of the Matawalle family, President Tinubu attended the wedding ceremony, which took place at the National Mosque in Abuja. During the event, prayers were offered. The President of São Tomé and Príncipe, Carlos Manuel Vila Nova, was also present.
The religious leader asked Allah, the Most Gracious, to bless the president with good health, describing him as a father figure to all the newlyweds.
In addition, he hoped that President Tinubu’s leadership would bring those who feel forgotten uplifted, so he prayed for the blessings of long life, progress, and success for Tinubu.
Our nation’s president is the spiritual father of all the newlyweds, thus we want Allah to bless him with good health.
We pray that Allah blesses our president with abundant health, happiness, and success during his term in office. We trust that his term would give hope to those who have lost all hope,” the Imam prayed.
Five of Matawalle’s daughters—Maryam, Safiyya, Farida, Nana Firdausi, and Aisha—were given in marriage by the former governor of Zamfara State. Similarly, Ibrahim, Abdul Jalal, Surajo, Bello, and Fahad—all of his sons—were married. On behalf of the newlyweds’ parents, President Tinubu officially welcomed them into the Matawalle family.
In addition, the Imam asked Allah to bless the marriages, wishing the newlyweds a lifetime of happiness and prosperity as they embark on their married lives together and asking for mercy and grace for the parents and grandparents.
Numerous dignitaries and well-wishers were present during the ceremony, including state governors, members of the National Assembly, the Federal Executive Council, service leaders, diplomats, traditional rulers, religious figures, and countless others.
