Applicants shall provide any legal documents related to the confirmation of a business’s existence and legality.

These CAC documents are required in Nigeria: a Certificate of Incorporation, particulars on all directors of said company, and Form A about the articles of association.

All these prove that the business is recognized under the law and operates within it.

Bank Statements: Operational businesses need to provide the company bank statements. The bank statements should reflect the business’s financial activity over a period of time, usually six months.

This will help the bank assess the business for financial vitality and cash flow. For startups, the bank statement of the head promoter or chief person in charge would normally be required.

This will assist the bank in understanding the head person running the startup about the background regarding their finances.

Satisfactory Business Performance:

Businesses are required to meet a minimum monthly income threshold that the bank determines in relation to the type and size of business. This requirement ensures that the amount, which a business generates grossly, will be enough to sustain itself through the loan repayment.
