Vincent Kompany, manager of Bayern Munich, has informed Jose Mourinho, manager of Benfica, that he committed a “huge mistake” in handling the alleged racist incident involving Vinicius Junior: Real Madrid.
In midweek’s Champions League play-off, Vinicius accused Gianluca Prestianni of racially abusing him. Prestianni plays for Benfica.
The incident occurred following the Brazilian winger’s goal, which was the game’s lone score.
Mourinho implied after the game that Vinicius’s celebration following the goal incited the home crowd.
However, Kompany informed the media today that Vinicius Jr. is being attacked by Jose Mourinho, who is leading an organization, by bringing in a celebration that discredits Vinicius’s current actions.
“We should not accept it because it is a huge mistake in terms of leadership.”
