During an early morning raid at his apartment in Abuja, operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, engaged in a tense exchange with former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, and seized him.
According to an internet video, Malami keeps asking to see a legal court order that authorises the operatives’ presence, casting doubt on their authenticity.
He spoke with conviction, demanding to know where the court order was. Am I someone you wish to shame?
He claims that EFCC officials informed him that they could legally label the property because it was under investigation.
But Malami resisted, saying that the time for any such directive authorising their conduct had long since passed.
He wanted to know if the property would continue be under probation even after the injunction had expired, as you mentioned that it was.
This morning you were at my other place, and now you’re back here. Why?” In addition, he pressed the operatives to provide convincing evidence of the legality of their conduct.
“The order you mentioned lacks specificity. The document does not provide you with explicit instructions to visit my residence, Malami stated.

According to Gistcon reporting, on Monday, DSS agents entered the Abuja home of former Attorney-General Abubakar Malami and ordered everyone inside to evacuate.
