Peller, whose real name is Hamzat Habeeb Adelaja, is a popular TikTok producer and streamer who has now spoken out about the scandals including a N395 million lawsuit and an alleged unauthorised visit to the palace of Oba Ewuare II.
The producer of the content insisted during a recent livestream that he was innocent and not directly involved for the incidents.
The Benin Traditional Council said that his March 6, 2026, visit to the Benin royal violated royal procedure and desecrated sacred grounds, which is the first source of contention.
Peller and his group allegedly entered the palace without authority, according to the council.
Reported disciplinary steps stemming from the incident include chief’s suspension, palace staff member’s arrest and prosecution, and potential sanctions for queen featured in related content.
Legal action may be taken against Peller if he does not comply with the council’s summons to appear before its committee and provide a written apology.
Peller denied the allegations, saying he followed his manager’s orders and had no idea his visit was illegal.
I was summoned by my boss to visit the palace of the Oba of Benin. There were no protocols that I was aware of. With due respect, I welcomed each individual. According to him, his hands were clean.
In the second scandal, a Lagos resident named Osarobo Odigie sued for N395 million following an incident that he claims occurred in a Lekki nightclub.
After Peller reportedly recorded and uploaded a video of a dispute without her knowledge, Odigie accused him of defamation, internet harassment, invasion of privacy, and emotional distress in a pre-action notice sent through her lawyers.
For slander, she is requesting N200 million; for emotional trauma, N100 million; for cyberbullying, N75 million; and for legal costs, N20 million.
Peller, in his response to the lawsuit, acknowledged that he does not have the financial resources to pay the requests and begged for forgiveness, saying that he has previously shown regret.
“That amount of money is beyond my means. Everyone seems to be hoping that I fail financially. “I’m a young person who needs guidance,” he added, his voice filled with pleading.
