PSG gains a significant advantage over Chelsea thanks to the clearance of a special request

Before facing the Blues in March for the UEFA Champions League Round of 16, Paris Saint-Germain has gotten a significant leg up.

To give Luis Enrique’s Paris Saint-Germain squad the best chance of preparing for their Champions League Round of 16 match against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, PSG specifically requested that their Ligue 1 match against Nantes be postponed.

The Premier League west London team will play the first leg at Parc des Princes on Wednesday, 11 March, while the second leg will be held on Tuesday, 17 March, at the Parisians’ home stadium.

In the weekend that falls between the first two legs of their match against Chelsea, the defending champions will play Nantes. Consequently, PSG is requesting the postponement of their match against Nantes in the French Ligue 1.

Nevertheless, the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) issued a statement that validated PSG’s request and verified that Nantes had already consented to the match being rescheduled.
