The alleged human rights violations in Nigeria have driven the country’s citizens to the brink of revolution, according to former vice president Atiku Abubakar.
While visiting the former governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-rufai, who battled with security personnel at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport in Abuja on Thursday night from Cairo, Egypt, Atiku made a statement.
According to Gistcon, agents from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) attempted to apprehend the ex-governor at the airport and had previously confiscated his foreign passport.
Atiku, speaking during the visit, remarked that the arrest defiance of Nigerians at the airport should have taught the government a lesson.
“I hope they will learn from what they saw at the airport,” he added, adding that individuals acting alone were the ones who fought against the arrest.
