Nyesom Wike, minister of the federal capital territory, has expressed his regret that Sandy Onor, a former senator from the Cross River Central Senatorial District, missed numerous chances to stand with him.
While in Abuja celebrating the former lawmaker’s 60th birthday, Wike gave a speech. Just because he (Wike) backed the former lawmaker’s bid for governor didn’t mean Sandy could get lucrative jobs, the minister recalled.
He said, “I remember the time of NDDC; I called Sandy and somebody’s name was proposed. They blocked it because I backed him for governor, but I told them, “Don’t worry about it; whatever happens, will happen.”
Next, the South South Development Commission (SSDC) was founded by the president in his magnanimity. Rivers State has the honour of being chaired by that commission. My friend has done a good job, therefore I offered to give my life so that Cross River State might benefit; Senator Sandy should be the recipient.
I threatened to reclaim it if the state decided to take it away from him, but the state insisted on keeping it.
