As a response to opposition criticism, Abia State Governor Alex Otti has stated that his administration’s focus is on increasing public works projects.
Those who claim credit for the roads Otti built to previous administrations should have their ethnicity verified to see whether they are really Igbo, he said at a reception held on Saturday for the Attorney-General of Abia State, Ikechukwu Uwanna, SAN, at Isuikwuato.
True Igbos are not known for being dishonest, the governor remarked in response to concerns that some Abia opposition members were disputing the accomplishments of his government simply because he is not a member of their party.
You claim it wasn’t done even though you can’t see a completed road. No matter how hard you try, you will always be unable to see the route that someone else paved. Doing such disqualifies you as an Igbo guy.
On the other hand, we’d rather not answer at all. More labour is our response. After all this time, you can rest assured that this is your government, Otti assured the crowd during his speech.
He claimed that the opposition is spreading false information about his government to the people of Abia, particularly on projects that are either underway or have been finished.
He expressed his gratitude to Uche Ogah, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a former minister of state for mines and steel development, for publicly endorsing the successes of his administration in the state.
Ikechukwu Uwanna, the attorney general of Abia state, was further characterised by him as a key figure in his government.
Ogah, a former minister of state for mines and steel development, had earlier stated at the event that he would back Governor Alex Otti’s re-election regardless of his affiliation with the APC.
