Spotify disclosed in its annual report on Monday that Nigerian artists earned more than N60 billion in 2025.
According to the data, Nigerian artists’ revenue increased by almost 140% in the past two years.
It found that independent artists and labels made up to 58% of all royalties earned by Nigerian musicians on Spotify in 2025.
The research claims that in 2025, Nigerian musicians produced 30.3 billion streams and 1.6 billion hours of listening time.
Local streams of female Nigerian artists also increased by 55% in the reviewed year.
With over 12 million playlists in Nigeria alone and approximately 320 million users worldwide, Nigerian musicians’ music kept drawing listeners from all over the world.
In 2025, there were over 60 million playlists that featured Nigerian artists on Spotify.
