According to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), 35 projects in Zamfara worth N4.61 billion have been monitored by the federal government.
This was stated at a news briefing in Gusau on Saturday by Dr. Murtala Bankano, who is the team leader of the tracking exercise.
Value for money, he claimed, was the goal. The commission and the Budget Office collaborated on the creation of CEPTI, the Constituency and Executive Project Tracking Initiative, according to Bankano.
According to him, the National Institute for Quantity Surveyor (NIQS), the media, and other interested parties also work together to ensure the successful rollout of FG projects nationwide.
Phase eight of the state’s tracking exercise, he added, included programs in the following six areas: education, health, water resources, power, empowerment, and agriculture.
He informed the contractors that their tasks were incomplete on some of the projects and advised them to return to their work.
“We are directing all contractors with any issue to return to sight immediately, even though the exercise is waiting for the NIQS report to determine the specific age of those projects in question,” he said.
Bankano stated that the goal of ICPC under this Initiative was to guarantee the standard-compliant execution of Executive and Constituency Projects.
