“The Commission’s proposed budget of N873bn for 2027 is not too much,” says Oluwole Osaze-Uzzi, a former director of INEC.
During an interview during Thursday’s episode of Politics Today on Channels Television, Osaze-Uzzi made this claim.
According to the Gistcon, the INEC had requested a sum of N873.78 billion to cover the upcoming general elections in 2027.
According to Osaze-Uzzi, there hasn’t been a significant increase in the budget being given to the Assembly today compared to the budget for the 2023 elections.
I anticipate that the National Assembly will examine it thoroughly, check the inflation rate, and examine the breakdown to make sure that resources are being used efficiently.
Hopefully, the logistics will be perfect. An adequate allocation of funds for the system’s logistics, trade, and technical advancements. It is imperative that all of these be considered.
