Completed in 36 kilometres, the Bagoma-Gagumi road project in Birnin Gwari local government will beat the Gadan Gayan-Gwaraji-Kujama route, which was commissioned in February, and Governor Uba Sani would shatter his own record.
This was revealed by Dr. Abdullahi Baba Ahmed, the Managing Director of the Kaduna State Roads Agency (KADRA), during an inspection visit to the project site. Ahmed characterised the rural transformation under the governor as revolutionary.
Remember when last February, the Governor officially opened the longest road built in the past 20 years? It spans three different municipalities.
A 130-meter bridge spans the River Kaduna on the 35-kilometer route that connects Igabi to the local governments of Kajuru and Chikun and provides access to numerous rural towns.
The completion of the Bagoma-Gagumi road will assist sixty-six farming communities in the Birnin Gwari local government, according to Dr. Baba Ahmed, who made the announcement during the weekend’s inspection tour.
Adding that the road will connect farmers to markets, citizens to schools and hospitals, and open up the area to a great extent, he predicted that it will have a substantial influence on the local economy.
“Birnin Gwari is one of Nigeria’s leading maize-producing local governments, and this road will greatly improve the transportation of produce and boost economic growth,” he stated, elaborating on the advantages of the Bagoma-Gagumi road.
The 66 rural communities will also have greater access to schools, hospitals, markets, and jobs, according to KADRA’s managing director.
He said that Governor Uba Sani has started 150 projects and finished 66 of them, and that the Bagoma-Gagumi road project is just one of them. The governor’s larger aim is to construct 1,345 km of roads throughout 20 LGAs.
The MD mentioned that CGC Nigeria Limited, a prominent construction company that focuses on infrastructure projects including as roads, bridges, and water supplies, is building the road.
According to Dr. Baba Ahmed, the contractor has pledged to deliver ahead of time, even though the project is slated to be finished by the end of the year.
In order to guarantee the project’s early completion, CGC Northern Regional Manager Mr. Wang Hongxi revealed that “we have mobilised more workers and are working around the clock.”
The 36-kilometer road has the potential to enhance the lives of the people living in Bagoma and Gagumi, as well as to generate economic prospects for them.
“The long-deteriorated road is now undergoing a makeover, becoming a state-of-the-art highway that will improve transportation and stimulate local economies.”
A local named Alhaji Musa Bagoma expressed gratitude to Governor Uba Sani for his dedication to enhancing the area’s infrastructure when speaking with reporters.
Local merchant Alhaji Dangajere Gagumi added, “this road will change our lives.” Our children won’t have to worry about the difficult terrain getting them to and from school, and we’ll have an easier time getting our goods to market.
