Mr. Ifeanyi Izeze was a trailblazing member of Atiku Abubakar’s media team, and his death has been revealed by the former vice president. His media advisor, Paul Ibe, made the announcement in a statement released on Sunday.
After working as office manager for the Aluminium Smelter Company of Nigeria (ALSCON) in Ikot-Abasi for a while, Izeze reportedly joined Atiku’s media team in 2006.
His background in journalism and the oil and gas industry in Nigeria allowed him to significantly impact Atiku’s media strategy and campaign plans, especially in the Niger Delta area.
Izeze joined ALSCON after a career in journalism during which he covered the oil and gas business extensively for Sunray, Anchor, and NewAge newspapers. He had previously studied geology at the University of Port Harcourt up to the postgraduate level.
In addition to his successful career, Izeze was well-known for his strong Christian beliefs and hilarious sense of humour.
He was involved with the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria and was ordained as a preacher in the Christ Embassy denomination.
Pastor Emeka Izeze, a well-known figure at The Guardian Newspapers, and his children and grandkids will carry on his legacy.
Funeral arrangements have not been announced by his family.
