On Saturday, 58 individuals were transferred from the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, to General Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, who in turn transferred them to the Kaduna State Government. The transfer was made after security agencies had worked together to rescue the individuals.
General Musa, who handed over the bodies to Sani Kila, the governor’s chief of staff and a representative of the state administration, thanked the joint efforts of the military and other security agencies for the rescue operation.
If the Nigerian government wants the operation to be successful, he says, every citizen must pitch in.
According to General Musa, certain people have been attempting to sabotage the government’s efforts in order to ensure that it fails.
He went on to say that the security forces were keeping Nigerians secure by working nonstop.
Contrary to popular myth, the commander of defense did not say that all banditry members were voluntary tools; he did say that some were conscripts. Additionally, he emphasized that the military will persist in pursuing those responsible.
This demonstrates the fruition of the partnership from the very beginning. From the White House to the National Security Adviser’s Office, the Defense Ministry, and all collaborating agencies, including that of Kaduna State.
It was only through working together that we were able to save these people, and the governor has been tremendously helpful and supportive throughout.
It was a group effort, and we accomplished it by avoiding physical movement. These people were not compensated in any way. He made it clear that Nigerians must realize that success is highly unlikely in the absence of unity.
