After Sunday’s 2-0 Carabao Cup final victory, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said that Manchester City took advantage of “good moments” to win.
City won their first trophy of the season at Wembley Stadium thanks to two second-half headers scored by Nico O’Reilly.
After the game, Arteta stated that they missed scoring opportunities in the first half.
“There were various points during the match,” Arteta clarified. We should have been ahead 1-0 at halftime because we had several excellent opportunities. Ours was the best chance of the game.
The game’s outcome would have been altered by that. We struggled in the opening twenty minutes to break out of our defensive rut, press the opposition more effectively, and control the ball more effectively than in the second half. We let in an unexpected goal, then they scored another in the same circumstances three minutes later.
