According to Gistcon, Fulham defender Calvin Bassey will not be participating in Nigeria’s forthcoming friendlies against Iran and Jordan because of a back ailment.
The Fulham 3-1 win over Burnley last weekend was when Bassey hurt himself.
Coach Eric Chelle is unlikely to select a substitute for the defender in the two days leading up to Friday’s opening friendly against Iran.
At the same time, the team’s captain, Wilfred Ndidi, has reached the Antalya, Turkey, Bellis Deluxe Hotel, where the squad is based.
With Ndidi’s addition, the roster now stands at 22 players. The midfielder from Besiktas is likely to participate in tonight’s first practice with the squad.
