According to Governor Uba Sani, his administration would not have accomplished so much in its first 25 months in office without the backing of President Bola Tinubu.
A $200 million poultry project between Nigeria and China, the largest in sub-Saharan Africa, will reportedly first help Kaduna State, the state the president loves, according to him.
“With God’s help, we will be breaking ground for the construction of the largest poultry project in Sub-Saharan Africa in the next two months,” he announced.
”At least 350 direct employment and 150,000 indirect jobs and roughly 10,000 small businesses inside Kaduna State will be supported,” the governor said of the initiative.
While hosting social media influencers for Iftar, the breaking of the Ramadan fast, on Wednesday night, Governor Uba Sani revealed all of this.
“Because of the benevolence of President Bola Tinubu,” he added, adding that Kaduna State would be the first outside of Lagos State to receive a Light Rail.
The Governor expressed gratitude to the social media influencers for their support after revealing that the Light Rail project’s ground breaking will occur in May.
He emphasised once again that the influencers are highly qualified individuals who have a genuine interest in promoting the initiatives of the Kaduna State Government.
In addition, Governor Sani remarked that the past 2.5 years have seen great milestones from his government, and that influential people have been helping to spread the word about these successes.
To combat the problem of children not attending school, he announced that his government had constructed approximately 104 new schools in collaboration with the Kuwait Development Fund.
“We are also working toward building additional 55 secondary schools,” he continued, “and the Kaduna State Government has built 65 secondary schools and renovated over 2,300 classrooms.”
Also, beginning next month, we will be hiring 2,000 elementary school teachers for our system. He also assured everyone that the drill will be held annually.
We had approximately 580,000 children who were not in school today when we came in, but through God’s mercy, we have decreased that number to only about 182,000, the governor recalled.
The governor boasted that his administration had set up vocational schools in Soba, Rigachukun, and Zangon Kataf, putting Kaduna State at the forefront of skill development.
According to him, these schools have better resources than any Nigerian Federal University of Technology. This is according to the Minister of Education.
An estimated 32,000 artisans will be graduated each year, he said, and all of them will be certified by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), allowing them to find work wherever in the globe.
Nearly 2.5 years ago, when Governor Uba Sani took office, his administration lowered tuition at universities operated by Kaduna State.
Enrolment in all of Kaduna State’s universities has surged by more than 200 percent, he said.
In addition, the governor boasted that 255 primary healthcare clinics in Kaduna State had been upgraded from level 1 to level 2, making it unique among Nigeria’s subnational governments.
We have restored and reconstructed sixteen more secondary healthcare institutions in Kaduna State. All of them are well-equipped.
Over the next five years, we intend to hire 1,800 healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and other medical professionals. According to his assurance, we have already begun.
The Governor also highlighted the agricultural accomplishments of his government, restating that Kaduna is the pioneering state to lay the foundation for the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone.
“Our farmers will have their produce certified for export globally by partnering with Afreximbank to build the Africa Quality Assurance Center (AQAC),” he stated, adding that they are the second Nigerian state to do so.
We arrived in 2023 with an agriculture budget of barely 0.5%. He did, however, reveal that the agricultural budget had surpassed the Malabo declaration at 11%.
“We are the only states that have given out 900 trucks of fertiliser to smallholder farmers free of charge,” said Governor Uba Sani, whose administration has allegedly been helping farmers.
