Real Madrid coach Chelle hears Chelle’s dream

Coach Éric Chelle of the Super Eagles aspires to make history as the first African to lead Real Madrid, the Spanish powerhouse, according to the Gistcon.

Chelle is now considered one of the top African homegrown coaches. He began his coaching career in 2014 with the French amateur team Groupe Sportif Consolat.

At the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, the Super Eagles were led by the 48-year-old to a satisfactory third-place finish.

The former defender also guided his home nation of Mali to a spot in the AFCON 2023 quarterfinals.

It has been reported that several African nations have expressed interest in Chelle.

The goal, according to Chelle, is to be a Real Madrid coach someday.

“I would love to be the first African coach to lead Real Madrid,” Chelle stated in an interview with RMC Sport.
