Actor Uzor Arukwe of Nollywood fame has spoken out against the backlash he’s gotten for playing love interests with married women on set, particularly Bambam from “Love In Every Word.”
During a recent interview with BBC Igbo, Arukwe talked about how he would always ask his female coworkers, particularly those who were married, for permission before touching them “in a certain way” while filming.
He gave the rationale that he doesn’t want his married coworkers to experience marital problems because of their acting jobs.
He made it clear that prior to their first film together, he had never met Bambam and had no romantic involvement with her.
The actor elaborated, saying, “Before filming, I ask my co-lead actor if it is okay to touch them in a certain way. I don’t want them to have problems at home.” This especially applies to the married actors.
