Mikel Arteta, manager of Arsenal, has stated that Ben White and Riccardo Calafiori are both being considered for Tuesday night’s Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain.
In all competitions, Calafiori has started the last three games for the Gunners.
Contrary to expectations, the Italian defender jarred his knee in Sunday’s 4-2 victory over Leicester City.
Several defensive injuries have plagued Arteta since the season began. Among them is Ben White, who has been sidelined with a groin injury and has not played in either of Arsenal’s previous two matches against Bolton and Leicester City.
Those are the two players (Calafiori and White) that are in the running for the PSG match, and we need to evaluate them today,” Arteta told the reporters on Monday.
No training sessions were conducted yesterday.
“He was a bit emotional after the game,” Arteta stated in response to a question regarding Calafiori.
“Let’s check in on him today.”
