After losing the Copa del Rey to Atletico Madrid 4-0 on Thursday night, Barcelona set an undesirable record.
The Blaugrana lost the first leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final match at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano Stadium.
The victory over the Catalan club was secured by Diego Simeone’s squad thanks to goals scored by Julian Alvarez, Antoine Griezmann, Ademola Lookman, and Eric García (OG).
As a result of the match’s results, though, Barcelona will only have let in four goals by halftime twice since the 2004–05 season, according to OptaJose.
On a separate occasion, in August of 2020, it was in the quarterfinals of the Champions League, playing against Bayern Munich and losing 2-8. Also, March is when you can expect to see the second leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final match.
