Major decisions regarding the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations will be made by the Confederation of African Football, CAF, on Friday (today).
Today, Friday, the executive committee of CAF will convene in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, to make a decision regarding the two tournaments. Morocco will host next month’s WAFCON 2026 finals.
The 2027 African Football Championship (AFCON) was supposed to take place in 2027, but it could be moved to 2028 due to a packed international schedule and concerns about the preparedness of the three co-host nations, Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
The location of the Women’s AFCON is also anticipated to be decided. South Africa is reportedly prepared to replace Morocco as the host of the competition.
