Restoring security in Anambra: The Importance of Community Policing – CP Itam

Community policing is crucial to restoring security in Anambra State, according to CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, the state’s commissioner of police.

This was revealed by the police chief while he was on an evaluation and advocacy visit to the Njikoka Local Government Area in Anambra State.

According to a statement released by SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the state police command spokesperson, Itam met with various local residents and officials during his visit, including the traditional ruler of Abagana, the local government chairman, community presidents general, vigilante operatives, and others.

The statement stated that the Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, has been actively working to improve security in the state. He has been conducting security assessments and advocating for better collaboration between community leaders, indigenous people, and residents in 21 local government areas.

During the meeting with the stakeholders, the CP emphasized the value of community policing and urged everyone to be forthright and patriotic in helping to sort out our disagreements and figure out how to fix them.

Additionally, the CP emphasized that Mondays are prohibited, businesses in Ndi Anambra are crippled, and the state is being wreaked devastation by a common adversary.

“He called on the public to stand in solidarity with law enforcement and other security forces in order to reclaim our territory and ensure that criminals cannot continue to incite unrest in the state.”
