To make sure the Hajj in Ogun State goes off without a hitch, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency’s (NDLEA) participation is paramount.
While visiting the agency’s State Command in Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta, on Friday, Ajibola Taiwo, the Executive Secretary of the Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, made the statement.
While expressing gratitude for the agency’s assistance in carrying out past Hajj operations, Taiwo clarified that the purpose of the visit was to notify the agency of the start of the 2025 Hajj.
In preparation for the sacred journey to Saudi Arabia, the Board also sought funding for education programs about banned substances and foods and for the profiling of pilgrims.
In response, Commander Tijani Rabe, the state commander of the NDLEA, lauded the Board’s endeavors to ensure the safety of pilgrims in the state and in the Holyland.
He told the Board that it would not hesitate to carry out its statutory duties when required and mentioned that the visit was an opportunity to strategize and enhance the relationship between the two organizations.
